IGT Toscana Fossifòco
The terroir is the master of this wine; its expression is represented by Sangiovese in its great territorial expression married to a small note of Merlot.
€45.00
It is obtained from the blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. After a meticulous green harvest the grapes are collected in small boxes, cooled overnight and then checked on a double sorting table. Fermentation takes place in small steel tanks. After maceration on the skins, the wine is transferred to French fine-grained oak barriques from the best selection, where malolactic fermentation takes place. It rises in barriques “sur lies” for 18 months. After bottling, it ages in glass for at least 6 to 12 months before being placed on the market.
Wine of extraordinary identity, harmonious, intense, rich and complex with fruity and spicy notes. Sweet, dense, intense and balanced tannin with a fresh acidity. Notes of berry fruits, typical of the undergrowth, with spicy and balsamic hints.
